The Chelan County Department of Community Development has signed a contract with Deckard Technologies to provide a 24/7 service for residents experiencing problems with nearby short-term rentals. This service includes a hotline, 509-293-4577, and an online reporting form, Chelan STR Complaints.
You can now call any time of day, any day of the week, to report problems such as excessive noise, too many guests, parking, and trash. You can also report a suspected illegal rental.
RC3 is pleased that the County has added this option for residents to report problems with STRs.
When Deckard receives a complaint, a staff member will reach out to the STR’s local contact and ask that the complaint be addressed. If not resolved in an hour, residents are encouraged to call the hotline again to report this. The issue will then be turned over to the County’s Code Enforcement Unit, which is responsible for enforcement of the STR regulations. This includes investigation of complaints and imposition of civil penalties including fines.
