Access to STR Contact Info

As RC3 has long requested, Chelan County has taken steps to significantly increase the availability of information about permitted short term rentals (STR’s) in the unincorporated areas of the county. First, they have provided a spreadsheet that lists all the STR’s that have received permits to operate in 2024. This spreadsheet includes the address of the property, the name and address of the owner, the occupancy limit for the rental, and email addresses for the local contact person and the property owner. You can use Excel or Google Sheets to open and search the document.

The County also has added an information layer to their GIS map. With this tool you can find the physical location of all STR’s on a map (again, only for the unincorporated areas of the county). In addition to the physical location, you can click on the parcel and information about the rental pops up on your screen. If you need a tutorial on how to use the GIS to find locations of STR’s, Follow this link to a short video that will show you how to use the tool.

RC3 applauds the County for taking these steps to make information about STR’s available to residents.

If you suspect there is a STR operating illegally in your neighborhood, you can file a complaint with the County. Here’s the link for information on filing a complaint, Chelan County Code Enforcement.

At this time, the cities of Leavenworth and Chelan do not have this level of information available to their residents. The city of Wenatchee does not regulate STR’s and the city of Cashmere only specifies the zoning districts where a STR can locate but does not require permits or have comprehensive operating standards.
